Commercial Bands
Variable Power
(2 bands per set)

Intended primarily
for Single Band
Freeshafting and Lineshafting

Variable Power Commercial Bands
Variable Power Bands offer three different power options and are intended primarily for single band freeshafting or lineshafting. The shorter amber band is the band used most often and is best for medium range shooting. The longer black band is used for shooting close range shots where less power is needed. Both bands would only be used when extra penetration is needed on a large fish or if you needed to make a long distance shot. If you primarily shoot with two bands, it is better to equip your speargun with two bands of similar length. Please consult the speargun specification chart to select the proper size bands for your speargun.

The Commercial Speargun
The Commercial speargun represents a unique departure from conventional speargun designs and concepts. This speargun is the result of more than 20 years of spearfishing experience and technology developed by Spearfishing Specialties owner Kevin Bruington along with advice from many spearfishermen throughout Florida. This is the speargun Kevin used throughout most of his commercial spearfishing career. This technology was introduced to the public in 1995 and has gained wide acceptance among recreational spearfishermen as well.

The Commercial gun was designed primarily as a bottom gun or a working gun, as some prefer to call it. However, the commercial gun is also versatile enough to be used as a free diving gun.

Commercial Muzzle: The Commercial muzzle is the main feature of the Commercial gun. The muzzle is designed to keep the shaft perfectly straight as it travels down the barrel and exits the muzzle, regardless of the angle of the shot. The result is incredible shot to shot consistency which was so important to Kevin during his commercial career. The dedicated band slots pin the bands in one position which is an important feature when single band freeshafting. The bands will not flip position while loading. This feature allows you to select one of three different power options. (See commercial band description below).

Lineshaft / Freeshaft Capability
The Commercial gun is also equipped with our exclusive "Single Loop" line system. The line is made using 750lb test monofilament, which is very durable. The line can be stowed under the barrel of the gun while freeshafting. If you need to change to lineshaft, simply pop the line off the retaining clip installed on the butt, pull the spare shaft out of the holder, and drop the lineshaft into the gun. You can easily change from freeshaft to lineshaft in 10 to 15 seconds!

The Commercial gun is also a versatile lineshaft gun. The gun excels in low to medium visibility conditions. There is enough line on the gun to shoot about two times the length of the shaft off the end of the gun. This is ample line for shooting in low to medium visibility. The single loop line is very quick to reload because there is no time consuming wrapping sequence. You simply place the line in the clip mounted under the barrel, load the bands, and shoot! The single loop line speeds up the reloading cycle and absolutely will not tangle.

C102 - Spare Shaft Holder for 5/16" dia. Shafts

Exploded View of C102 Shaft Holder

Features

  • No Moving Parts
  • Failsafe Design
  • Easy Installation
  • No More Lost Shafts
  • Lifetime Guarantee
  • Fits 5/16" dia. Shafts

Our spare shaft holder is the highest quality, most reliable spare shaft holder available today. It features a very simple, but effective design concept with no moving parts! The complete assembly installs in just a few minutes and only requires three #8 wood screws.

The shaft is held in the rear tension assembly using a short piece of soft vinyl tubing suspended in a specially machined plastic tube made of durable DuPont "Delrin." A thin rubber shim is placed next to the soft rubber tubing so the tension of the shaft holder can be adjusted if necessary. The rear tension assembly has no moving parts which greatly reduces the possibly of losing a shaft. The shaft holder is constructed with all plastic components and carries a 100% lifetime guarantee

The only maintenance the shaft holder requires is to apply a thin layer of bearing grease or a similar lubricant to the trigger end of all the shafts you plan to use. This lubricates the rear tension assembly every time the shaft is inserted. Without the lubricant the shaft may become difficult to insert or remove from the holder.

Click here for more information on the spare shaft holder.

Hi-Vis Yellow Butt is Standard on Commercial Rhino Guns, may be substituted on Commercial Mahogany and Teak Guns.

The new Hi-Vis yellow gun butt and bands are the latest addition for Sea Hornet wood spearguns. The Hi-Vis yellow color is a safety feature to help spot a diver who has surfaced away from the boat, as well as a locating feature in case the gun floats to the surface.

The Rhino is the first speargun on the market to offer Hi-Vis components as a safety feature as well as a performance function in low visibility conditions.
